Table Personalisation Overview 🗂️

Personalise the Legal Entity List and Individuals List — show or hide columns, resize, and sort, with your layout remembered across sessions and devices.

Written by Davin Wu

Overview

Vistra Digital's Table Personalisation feature lets you shape the Legal Entity List and the Individuals List around the way you work. Show only the columns you need, resize them to fit your content, and sort to surface the right records — and your layout is remembered across every session and device. Each person's view is private and stays exactly as configured until it is changed.

💡 Key Takeaway: Personalise each list once and Vistra Digital restores your columns, widths, and sort automatically every time you return.

Key Features & Capabilities

🔍 Show and Hide Table Columns

  • Open any column header's ⋮ menu and choose Hide column, or select Manage columns to open the panel where you can toggle any column on or off.

  • Changes apply immediately with no page reload, and the remaining columns reflow to fill the space.

  • Hidden columns remain available in the Manage columns panel and can be shown again whenever you need them.

✏️ Resize Columns

  • Drag the right edge of any column header to widen or narrow it, with the width applied the moment you release.

  • Columns respect a minimum width, and cell content that is too long is truncated on a single line with the full value available on hover, so row height stays constant.

📊 Sort Rows

  • Click a column header to cycle through ascending, descending, and unsorted order, or use the ⋮ menu for the targeted Sort by ASC, Sort by DESC, and Unsort actions.

  • Sorting applies across the entire dataset, so the records you see reflect the true order, not just the current page.

🔐 Personal, Persistent Views

  • Your layout is saved automatically to your account and reapplied on your next visit, on any device.

  • Each person's view is private and remains in place until changed; a RESET option in the Manage columns panel restores the default column layout at any time.

🔄 Row Selection

  • Select rows using the leftmost checkboxes when you need to work with specific records.

  • Selection is available by checkbox only and is not saved between sessions.

How It Works (Step-by-Step Guide)

Step 1: Open a List

Navigate to the Legal Entity List or the Individuals List. On your first visit, the list opens with a sensible default set of columns and no sort applied. All other columns are hidden but available to show at any time via the Manage columns panel.

The default visible columns for the Legal Entity List are:

Legal Entity List

Company name (with Registration Number)

Company type

Jurisdiction

Incorporation date

Managed by

Last modified (with Last Modified User)

Company Status

The default visible columns for the Individuals List are:

Individuals List

First name

Last name

Nationality

Created date and time

Step 2: Choose Your Columns

Open any column header's ⋮ menu and select Manage columns. Tick or untick columns to build the view you need, or use Show/Hide All to reveal or clear every column at once.

Step 3: Resize to Fit

Drag the right edge of a column header to set the width that suits your content. Narrow columns show a preview of the full value on hover.

Step 4: Sort Your Rows

Click a column header to cycle through ascending, descending, and unsorted order, or use the ⋮ menu for the targeted Sort by ASC, Sort by DESC, and Unsort actions.

Step 5: Return Anytime

Your columns, widths, and sort are saved automatically. When you reopen the list — even on a different device — your personalised view is restored.

Step 6: Reset When Needed

To return to the default layout, open the Manage columns panel and click RESET. This restores the default columns and widths while leaving any active sort in place.

User Benefits

🎯 Accuracy: Surface the exact columns and record order relevant to a task, reducing the risk of overlooking key details.

Efficiency: Configure a list view once and reuse it every session, removing repetitive set-up.

🔐 Security: Personal views are private to each user and never change another person's layout or data access.

📊 Transparency: Sorting runs across the full dataset, so the records shown reflect the complete picture.

Use Cases

For Compliance Teams: Sort entities by incorporation date or company status and show the columns that matter to prioritise review work.

For Corporate Secretaries: Show only the entity attributes relevant to a filing and hide the rest for a cleaner working view.

For Relationship Managers: Sort individuals by name or nationality and resize columns to keep client details in easy view.

For Operational Teams: Build a focused layout for onboarding tasks and rely on Vistra Digital to restore it across sessions and devices.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

❓ Will my layout affect what my colleagues see?

No. Each personalised view is private to your account. Changing your columns, widths, or sort has no effect on any other user's view.

❓ What happens if I hide every column?

The list displays a No columns message with a MANAGE COLUMNS option. Open the panel to re-check columns individually, or click RESET to restore the default layout.

❓ Does sorting only apply to the page I am viewing?

No. Sorting applies across the entire dataset, and the paged view reflects the sorted result.

❓ Will I lose my layout if I switch devices?

No. Your view is saved to your account, so it is restored whenever you open the list, regardless of the device or screen size.

Summary

The Table Personalisation feature gives every user control over how the Legal Entity List and the Individuals List are displayed, from column selection and width to sorting. Vistra Digital saves each personalised view privately and restores it across sessions and devices, so your lists stay tailored to the task without repeated set-up. Use the Manage columns panel to adjust your view at any time, or RESET to return to the platform default.
